Streamlined divorce advice

Separable is the new streamlined divorce product from Kingsley Napley. Through our carefully designed process, we can help you save your legal spend for the key, strategic aspects of your case without compromising on quality.

Separable is a fixed fee service, with payment stages linked to the stage you are at in agreeing your finances on divorce. From your first meeting with us, you can have confidence of the pathway to finalising your divorce, and the costs connected with this.

The initial planning stage costs £3,500 (plus VAT and disbursements, as applicable) which includes:

  • a detailed half day meeting to learn about you, your situation and priorities, and to provide advice on all your options;
  • written advice on next steps; and
  • speaking to your spouse’s lawyers to set a strategy for resolution.

Please get in touch if the following applies to you:

  • You are separating and want to resolve your financial arrangements outside of court.
  • You have total net assets in excess of £1 million or a combined annual salary of at least £200,000.
  • You want a lawyer who will work with you to:
    • Understand what is important to you and your family
    • Achieve a settlement efficiently
    • Give you as much certainty on costs as possible
  • You are willing to complete some tasks yourself, such as putting together your financial information, but understand the value of having a trusted and experienced advisor to guide you.

Separable Service: Quick Q&A

What is Separable?

A fixed-fee service to help you and your spouse settle finances on divorce out of court, with legal advice in the background.

How is it different?

You pay a set fee for each stage, do some tasks yourself, and there’s no court litigation.

Who can use it?

It’s for clients with straightforward finances, no complex assets, and both parties willing to negotiate away from the court system (although with lawyers to advise both of you separately).

What does it cost?

Each stage has a fixed price; you pay as you go. You can opt out at any stage.

Can I do just one stage?

Yes, you can opt out after any stage.

What if there already are court proceedings?

You may use Separable if both sides agree officially to pause court action while you pursue non-court dispute resolution.

Are there other options to resolve my dispute?

Yes—direct negotiation, mediation, collaborative law, court, or arbitration are all ways to resolve a family dispute. If Separable isn’t for you, we provide legal representation across the full spectrum of options.

What are the next steps if I think I might be interested in using Separable?

Fill in our questionnaire here and one of our team will get back to you to discuss the next steps. Generally speaking, it will involve a short call with one of our partners to check Separable is the right service for you, before you engage us as your lawyers.
